The "preview" display to the right has been set up to show the next seven events from the FortrisCalendar application, this includes any events that may be taking place on today's date. The number of events to show in the preview display can be set by the administrator. When an event in the preview display is clicked on, the site visitor is taken to the "agenda view" of your calendar, where any additional information that you may have uploaded with the event, such as images, a downloadable file, more detailed information, a link to an external (or internal) web page for additional information regarding an event, and even driving directions can be seen.

The XML/RSS Feed

The small XML/RSS Feed icon below the "preview" event list on this page, is the same feed as the one found on the main "grid view" and "agenda view" pages. The feed does not necessarily show the next ten event that are to take place. The XML/RSS Feed shows the ten most recently added or updated events.

For example, let's take a look at an event that has been added to a date ten months from now, and there are 20 events that are going to take place before it. If an admin should need to change the time of the event or for example, upload an image or driving directions for the event, that event would float to the top of the XML/RSS Feed because it contains the most recently updated information. This is in keeping with the true nature of an XML/RSS Feed, which is to provide a quick look into the latest information that is available for any given subject.
